Latex

I present to you my latest photo manipulation called "Latex", which tells the story of a woman abused by men her entire life. Growing up, she had a fascination with liquid latex and started creating works of art using the material. I could go into the full story, but basically the woman in the artwork is an artist who diffuses the blood of men into molds of liquid latex before it dries to create accessories for her wardrobe. In this piece, she is wearing a mold of a part of her face that is stitched around her eye. The pot colouring mimics the mask colouring in order to reveal where she stores her blood-diffused liquid latex. The composition show the man's head "above" the woman, but he has no power, as shown again by the woman's portrait being above his head. The colouring of the portrait even reflects her personality, the colour of transparent latex is a rotten orange and the red eye represents her liking for blood in the latex. This represents that although the man might have power at first, in the end, she is the winner.
